Our Mission
Maajii helps Canadian founders stay and build in Canada, connected to the funding and resources they need. We combine longitudinal data with expert judgement to bring relationships back into how businesses are assessed.

Why Maajii Exists
Make it possible to tell a strong founder from a weak one before the pitch, so good founders can raise their first money here in Canada.
The Lemons Problem in Early Investing
At the earliest stage, a founder knows far more about their own work than an angel can see. When buyers cannot tell good from bad, they offer a price for average quality, and the best sellers walk away or settle for less. Economists call this the lemons problem (Akerlof, 1970). In early-stage investing it shows up as good founders who go unfunded, and angels who back only the people they already know.
The Cost of a Credible Signal
A signal only tells people apart when it costs more to fake for those without the quality it claims (Spence, 1973). Anyone can polish a deck. Months of real work, logged as it happens and reviewed by a person, are much harder to fake.
An Institution for Early Evidence
Markets with this problem build institutions people trust to check quality: an auditor, a licence, a rating. Maajii is that kind of institution for the earliest companies. Our product is a reviewed record of a founder's work, explained dimension by dimension, with the evidence behind each one. The software carries it. A person reviews it. The angel decides.
What We Do
- Founders record milestones and attach proof from their own storage.
- A person at Maajii reviews the evidence and publishes a readiness signal.
- Angels see founders who fit their thesis, with the reasons for each match.
- Maajii makes the introduction once both sides say yes.
We do not give investment advice, endorse companies, or guarantee funding. Founder data stays in Canada, and the privacy page says who sees what.
